This gorgeous Stratnoid powder compact dates from the 1920s to the early 1930s, when Stratnoid became Stratton. This little compact is made from a silver tone metal, and decorated with a thin striped design to the corners of the lid. The centre has a image of a dancing couple on a black and white tiled terrace, overlooking a lake scene. The blue details are picked out with a foil background, whilst the image is printed onto the celluloid top layer. The base has a blank rectangular cartouche in the centre. The internal mirror is polished metal. The central powder compartment has "Reg. design No.767198 Stratnoid made in England" engraved on it, along with a wave design. The compact is designed to hold loose powder, that is accessed by turning the "non-spill" lid.
🔸This Stratnoid compact is in good used vintage condition.
🔸The hinge, clasp, and rotating centre work as they should.
🔸The metal mirror gives a good reflection, with some marks. Please see the photos.
🔸The silver tone is bright, with some surface abrasions and marks. Please see the photos.
🔸The foil lid decoration is in good condition, with some light indentations.
🔹There is a slight indentation to the base.
🔹The compact is a little stiff to open, due to the nature of the pull up lid.
