This gorgeous little mother of pearl coin purse is in great condition for it’s age. This sovereign purse probably dates to the early 1900s or earlier. Both sides have abalone shell pieces that really do catch the light beautifully. One side has a painted flowers design. It has a silver tone metal frame, with a kiss clasp. The purse is lined with red fabric and has three sections for coins. The greeting may have said “A present from Great Yarmouth”, although it’s now partly rubbed away.
This purse is probably best used as a display item due to it’s diminutive size.
