Vintage gold tone musical compact by Melissa, c1950s or 1960's, music box and compact for use with loose powder

This Melissa musical powder compact is in perfect working condition. The compact is made from engine turned, gold tone metal, with a stripe design on the lid. "Made in Melissa England" is inscribed on the frame above the powder compartment. The powder compartment is decorated with engine turned stripes, and opens to reveal the powder sifter. To the left is the music box with its key. A lovely tune is played when the button is pulled up. I recognise the tune, but don’t know its title. This would make a wonderful gift for a vintage lover, or compact collector.

CONDITION

🔸This musical compact is in very good used vintage condition.
🔸The mirror gives a good reflection, with a tiny mirror spot.
🔸The hinges and catches work as they should.
🔸The musical mechanism and key work perfectly.
🔸There are some scuffs to the lid, but otherwise the brass is in very good used condition. Please see the photos.
