This is a Stratton scone compact without an inner lid. This early Stratton is gold tone metal, with a transfer image of a galleon in full sail on the lid. The base has the Stratton core spiral design, dating this compact to between the late 1940s and mid 1950s. This compact is likely to date to the late 1940s, as it does not have an inner lid or push-in catch. The lid simply lifts to reveal the round mirror. "Made in England, Stratton" is engraved above the mirror. This compact takes loose face powder, and has its used sifter.
🔸This vintage Stratton powder compact is in good used condition.
🔸The mirror gives an clear reflection.
🔸The hinges and lid closure work as they should.
🔹The decoration is intact, but does have some age marks to the gold tone. I Please see the photos.
🔹The gold tone metal is mostly bright and shiny, with minor scuffs, marks and some shallow dents to the lid. Please see the photos.
